The brand’s story commenced in Chaux-de-Fond, Switzerland, in 1955. Simone Ries and René Bannwart embarked on a venture to transform a small-sized watch factory, belonging to Simone’s father, into that of a watch manufacturing unit.

After one year, the first collection of ladies’ watches was launched into the market. The highly alluring watch made by Corum, the Chinese Hat, was introduced in 1960 and proved to be a great success. The house repeated the effect with the celebrated “Coin Watch”; inspired by the 1849 “Double Eagle” gold coin to create a watch that is cherished by collectors.
