The history of this splendid watch brand can be traced back to 1860 when Giovanni Panerai established his first boutique in Florence; later transforming into the legendary Officine Panerai company, its current name. This was a time when the Italian Royal Navy (X e  Flottiglia MAS) required its divers to possess advanced accessories for the successful completion of their missions. For this purpose, in 1938, Officine Panerai developed the Radiomir, a watch featuring high water resistance as well as optimal legibility. In 2002, a new watch manufacturing unit was established in Neuchȃtel, in Switzerland.
